The card mix-up at checkout was frustrating. We’d asked them to use a different card than the one on file, but they’d already charged the old one. The room service was poor when we were out, and there was no water in the rooms. The pillows seemed very old, and the TV guide listed channels that weren’t available. Breakfast was a joke: they didn’t refill it unless asked, and seemed annoyed when we did. Maybe fine for a single night, but I wouldn’t stay longer, especially at $159 a night.

Belle at the front desk was the best part of our stay. She was so welcoming, and when my kids wanted a snack, she kindly helped us out. The rooms were nice, and free breakfast was a bonus. Staff like her made the whole visit feel above and beyond. I’ll recommend it to my family, who travel a lot. Belle deserves a raise!

We only stayed because it was the last place available, and I definitely won’t return. The front desk accused us of making noise when we hadn’t. They called the cops, and apparently leaving the room to smoke in the designated area could get the local RCMP called too.

The room itself was good, but I could see condensation on the bathroom walls, and it needed a better cleaning. The front desk staff could use more skill when dealing with people.

Even though Key-Oh Lodge is right beside the highway, our stay was really quiet. The climate control kept the room cool through the hot days, and having local restaurants deliver right to our door was handy. We had a great stop on our journey.
