From the outside you'd never guess the interior was like this. We had a ground-floor room in the inner court on a 35C day, and the AC was already on when we arrived, which kept it cool. The pool was still under maintenance, but we got a friendly welcome. The room looked freshly renovated, and the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The AC hummed a bit, though that seemed pretty normal in that heat.

The caring, humble service made a difference. This is a first-rate motel in sleepy Cache Creek, with exceptionally clean, well-equipped rooms and good value for the price. The AC handled the 36-degree summer heat really well.

Our room was fine, but the customer service was terrible. We booked through Hotels.com and arrived at 10:55pm. They scolded my spouse and me like children for being late, saying the listing showed check-in ended at 10pm. If that had been clear, I wouldn't have booked. The Hotels.com listing doesn't mention it; apparently the cutoff is only in small print in an email after booking. After being treated that way, I won't book here again.

A clean, basic room with good AC and really nice staff. It worked for a one-night stop, and pets are welcome. Breakfast is included at Subway. The pool wasn't running, which was disappointing, and there was no coffee maker in the room. Be aware that many ground-floor rooms have a big step up at the entrance, which could be an accessibility problem.

For the price, I expected the basics to be covered. Instead, our towels had holes, the shampoo packets were empty, and there was no tissue or toilet paper in the room. It wasn't very clean, either, and no drinking water was provided. The gym was just two dusty machines that probably didn't work, and the pool was out of service too. A very disappointing stay.
