The dishes, bedsheets, and dryer were dirty, with stains and grime on the crockery and sheets and dirt and hair inside the dryer. That came on top of a much more frightening problem: our elevator stopped with ten of us trapped inside, including two very young children. We used the elevator intercom to alert security, who contacted the repair crew, but said they couldn’t call the fire department. They seemed to think rush-hour traffic might be holding up the repair staff. We asked repeatedly for them to call the fire department and they refused, so one of us used their phone reception to call. The firefighters arrived quickly and got us out, while the repair personnel still hadn’t shown up. Security said they would check on us every five minutes, but didn’t. We had to keep calling for updates as time passed and the cramped elevator felt suffocating with all ten of us inside. Nobody reassured us about the rescue, which made us more anxious. Security did try to respond, but much more should have been done in those circumstances. Management acknowledged how serious it was when we followed up, then stopped replying despite several more attempts to reach them.

The room wasn’t clean, and I wouldn’t stay here again. Getting the suite key was a whole ordeal. We arrived a little early, and security said they hadn’t received the key, so we had to wait until 15:00. At 1500, they said they couldn’t find our booking. Then a man came over without introducing himself and asked our names and where we had booked. They kept insisting they had no reservation and didn’t seem willing to investigate. One of my friends overheard the man giving his name and realized they had mixed up the booking. She’d reserved through Agoda under her own name, but used her husband’s credit card to hold it, as we were told to pay directly for the suite. The property had treated the cardholder as the booker, so they couldn’t find us. Even after we showed the booking reference, the man kept saying, "we don't know why! We have no idea!" in a really bad attitude. He should have been helping solve the problem, but instead we had to explain it all ourselves. What were we paying for, just a room with no service? Once it was sorted out, he told security to hand over the key and said nothing about the room. I felt like I was begging for the suite. No apology, either, and I still don’t even know who he was. The staff member came across as arrogant.

Great location, but our suite was nowhere near clean. The glass table had gunk at every spot, the wine glasses had lipstick on them, and there was grime and splatter on every fridge shelf. Black hairs were stuck to the white front of the washing machine. The balcony had puke stuck to it, though the view was nice if you looked past that. The sheets might have been clean. It felt like there were multiple cleaners with no supervision, and I’d call it health code violations everywhere. When we asked them to fix things, they asked what time the next day, then didn’t show. They claimed we needed to be there because they had both our keys. We stayed in until 4:30 waiting for the cleaner, but they missed that visit too and gave more excuses. No return calls, and they wouldn’t let us move somewhere else. There must be a reason they demand prepayment.

We booked through Expedia, but the photos showed a completely different, more spacious unit than the one we got. At the front desk, we were told it was an air bnb and that we had to contact the host for an extra key. There was no air conditioning, shampoo, or balcony, even though the listing said those were included. Absolute scam. Atlas hotel needs a rebrand, and the owner should be fined.

ZER0 Stars! I booked an apartment for 14 days and tried calling several days beforehand to arrange the key and get instructions. No one returned my calls or emailed me. The front desk said the people running it didn’t exist and were a problem. Booking.com eventually reached them and said they were canceling the reservation. I’m still waiting to get my money back.
