Coast Calgary Downtown Hotel & Suites by APA

The Coast hotel was a comfortable place for a quick work trip to Calgary, and the location was great. Mark greeted me at check-in and told me I was the “guest of the day,” which was fun and came with a room upgrade and breakfast to go. I found that the deadbolt didn’t work when I got into the room, but they switched me right away. Emma Xu also brought me a bottle of water for the inconvenience. I’m grateful to them both for the great service. It’s an older building with older decor, but it was clean. The deadbolt problem and the not so great soundproofing from the hall were the only real drawbacks. I appreciated the Japanese bidet toilet, a meaningful addition by APA. I’d stay again.

For a work trip, this was a fantastic spot and great value for what you get. My room was clean and very spacious, with a full kitchen including a fridge, oven and microwave, a full living room, a good sized desk, and a private bedroom set apart from the rest. The staff were attentive and pleasant, especially at check-in, when they went above and beyond with last-minute food recommendations nearby. The outside looks somewhat worn and dated, but it’s a former apartment building converted into a hotel, and they did a great job with it. For the price and what it aims to offer, I’d give it five stars.

The location made it easy for us to get everywhere we needed, and parking was convenient and hassle free. Our first stay at the Coast Hotel was fantastic. The place was clean, well maintained and comfortable throughout. Mark at the front desk set the tone when we arrived, welcoming us, checking us in efficiently, and showing that he cared about making our first visit a good one. The service and accommodations made it excellent value. We’d definitely return.

Yunna was warm, professional, and always ready to help, making the whole stay smooth and pleasant. The room was spotless, spacious and comfortable. We especially appreciated the Japanese bidet. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again.
