Element by Marriott Calgary Downtown

Zara made my stay. I ran into her after meeting her at another Calgary hotel about a year ago, and she remembered my name. She’s an amazing person, and I’m grateful I could stay at a hotel where she works. For what you pay, this is a five-star hotel. The team is unreal, well trained, and clearly cares about guests, which feels rare these days. I have Titanium membership and was upgraded. The room was nice, breakfast was great, and the gym was good. I can’t think of anything else I needed, and I highly recommend it if you’re in Calgary.

Flor from housekeeping was incredibly kind and attentive, and always made sure everything was spotless and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast deserves a special mention too. It was probably the best I’ve had at a hotel in Canada, where breakfasts are usually quite limited. The variety, quality, and freshness set this place apart. My front desk interaction with Amanda (or Mandy) wasn’t great. She said she was doing me a “favor” by upgrading my room, though that’s one of my Marriott Bonvoy benefits. When I tried to explain, she kept interrupting and said she already knew my benefits because she could “see them on the screen.” That wasn’t the best customer service. Tryphine Sondo at the front desk was the opposite: calm, professional, and genuinely helpful, with some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in the industry. She goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued and supported. It was a great stay thanks to the team members who really care.

The breakfast buffet on the 12th floor was neatly set out, with good food and a beautiful, relaxing view. Staff were very polite. There’s easy street parking, and the rooms are big, clean, and have comfortable beds. Great location.

Emian made the visit memorable from check-in through the day we left. On our first night he took time to show us good local places to visit, and I honestly felt like I’d made a new friend in Calgary. We came to Element Hotel in downtown Calgary to book a few days, and the staff were welcoming from the moment we walked in. They even showed us the rooms before we booked. They were spacious, beautifully designed, and had fully equipped kitchens, perfect for longer stays. Everything looked brand new. The whole hotel felt calm and aesthetic, and it was spotless everywhere. Breakfast was included and delicious, with fresh food, soups, espresso, and coffee. It exceeded all my expectations. If you’re looking for a clean, beautiful, welcoming place downtown, I 100% recommend it.
