There are no rooms since it’s a year-round residential trailer park. The service is good.

I’m not sorry to give this one star. This resort needs to be called out for its bad behavior. When I asked about staying there while scheduled to work in the area, I was rudely told I wasn’t old enough and would never be welcome. They also said my well-maintained 2008 luxury motorhome was too old for the park. Their manager didn’t even want to see photos. I’ve never met or spoken with this person before, so this had nothing to do with me personally. I couldn’t understand how my age gets me a seniors’ discount in many places, but somehow I’m not old enough to stay at Shelter Bay Resort. I’ve traveled all over North America in my rig and stayed at more than 30 resorts. Nobody has ever brought up my age or my rig’s age before. In my opinion, we both look pretty good. I’m including photos of me and my rig from last October’s trip. Do better, Shelter Bay Resort!

The new unit is lovely and beautifully finished. But it’s only 40 feet from the old island highway. We had to open the windows for air, and the passing traffic was deafening.

Shelter bay resort has been rebuilt beautifully, as you can see in the newer photos. The 360 photos on Google are old. Definitely five stars!

It’s visitor-friendly, and the tour-friendly town is just minutes away. Come relax and enjoy the day in stories beach area. The view is awe-inspiring, too. I truly think this is the best place to visit in summer, with such a view to wake up to every morning.
