Super 8 by Wyndham Campbellton NB

We mainly booked this place for the kids to use the pool, and that turned out to be a letdown. The water was freezing, and a spider landed on my husband while he was in it. We don't mind spiders, but then we spotted another one farther along in the water, so he switched to the hot tub. I wouldn't have expected a five-star room for 209, but I also didn't expect things to be this dingy. I still can't believe I lay down on that mattress after seeing the stain. We had a double queen room. Check-in was good for a last-minute reservation, and the clerk was kind, but there was a musty smell as soon as you walked in. The bathroom had ants. Floorboards were chipped, the mattress sides were stained, and the curtains were marked up. The linens looked clean and there was a protective cover on the bed. I didn't look underneath, because I don't think we could have stayed the night if I had. The AC smelled really foul, and the room was very outdated. The tub's water was freezing and a spider landed on my husband while he was swimming. He decided to use the hot tub instead. Continental breakfast was fine. There was a waffle maker, though the batter tasted salty and vinegary, which was odd. The kids had cereal and we had bagels. They had yogurt and hard-boiled eggs sitting in warm water in a crock pot, looking pretty sad. We were told there'd be bacon and eggs, but there was no bacon, and we hadn't expected hard-boiled eggs in a crock pot of warm water. It's safe to say this was our first and last visit. If you're in a pinch or this is your last resort, book it; otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

The breakfast choices were pretty limited, basically cereal, toast, and a waffle maker. It also looks like they rent the pool area to people who aren't hotel guests. My girlfriend and I booked a night because we were excited to use the pool, but screaming kids were in there from the moment we checked in. If the pool and hot tub are why you're booking, I'd look somewhere else.

We could hear people talking in the next room, and the room felt stale with dated decor. The tub was slippery and wouldn't drain.

The staff were wonderful and the service was the best. My stay at super 8 in Campbellton NB was absolutely great, and everyone there made it feel perfect. I'll definitely be back.
