Canmore Rocky Mountain Inn

The suite was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. One small thing: a mirror near an electrical outlet outside the bathroom would help. That way one person could shower while another dries their hair or shaves before going out. Not a deal breaker.

We stayed one night in a Standard double room with two Queen beds and a balcony. The room was roomy, cozy, and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the bed and bedding were clean and comfortable too. I slept very well. There was plenty of parking at the back, though very limited handicap stalls. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were welcoming. The lobby and shared areas were well kept. Complimentary tea and coffee were convenient and much appreciated. We also got a breakfast bag for a small fee, which was convenient and filling enough to get us through the morning.

For a last-minute booking, I found the rate reasonable, especially after seeing mixed reviews. We got a clean, nicely renovated room, and the amenities were more than expected: free evening wine reception, plus coffee, tea, fruit, and chocolates in the lobby. There were lots of rooms being renovated. I’d expect most of them to be done before the upcoming season, so hopefully many of the complaints in the one-star reviews won’t be an issue by then.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and we especially liked the two Chilean women. The lobby was beautiful, with couches and a fireplace where we enjoyed the free wine and cheese reception, as well as hot apple cider. The room was clean. We had a great experience.
