The food was really, really good and definitely a highlight of our visit to Everwild Spa. The setting is beautiful, with striking mountain views, though power lines are visible. It’s in a valley, and it was suuuper windy on the day we went. Speakers try to cover the highway noise, but you can still hear traffic in some areas. For the price, the amenities felt underwhelming, more like a nice swimming pool than a luxury spa. The change rooms were one of the best parts. The ritual we tried was interesting, but didn’t feel very authentic. We could barely smell the scents, and the strange rock music threw off the mood. I’d love to see more trained guides and some thought put into the lighting. A Scandinavian feel, or a yoga and breathwork approach, could work well. I’d been really excited after having transformative spa experiences at places like othership in other cities. It’s a nice experience, but very pricey for what you get. I’d still pick Kananaskis.

The bar was quiet, pleasant, and had good service, but prices were quite high on top of the admission cost. Sandals or slides are mandatory, yet there weren’t any to buy. We borrowed a used pair, but they were ridiculously small for my husband. Lots of people come to Canmore for skiing and may not pack sandals, so even cheap disposable pairs for sale would make sense. I only visited the Nordic spa, and it was a nice time. The saunas, steam rooms, and pools were relaxing and enjoyable. Still, I prefer the layout and features at Kananaskis Nordic Spa, like the eucalyptus steam room, and it costs less. Everwild Spa’s multi-level layout seems like a poor fit, especially in the dark on stone steps with patrons drinking alcohol. The long staircases between the change rooms and spa are open to the elements, which doesn’t make for a relaxing start. We had a nice enough visit, but wouldn’t go again.

We spent two nights at the hotel and two days at the spa, and we’ll definitely return. The hotel staff were just as accommodating as the spa team, doing everything they could to make the stay comfortable and memorable. The spa was incredible and had everything needed for a transformative experience. Make time for the Rituals. Brooke and Oli made our visit unforgettable with the scents, music, kind smiles, and stories they shared. 10/10 recommend them as Saunas Masters and simply perfect humans.

The mountain views around Everwild Canmore - Nordic Spa & Hotel are spectacular and give the place a calm, nature connected feel. Walking around the spa and taking in the scenery is an experience in itself. The hotel is modern and thoughtfully designed, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and staff were welcoming and professional. Breakfast was disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The food lacked flavor, and the coffee was noticeably sour and unpleasant. The spa has plenty of room to improve. Its Finnish sauna reached only around 80°C, which is low compared with the roughly 100°C traditionally expected. A true Finnish sauna at around 100°C, along with menthol, eucalyptus, herbal, infrared, and salt saunas, a Kneipp bath, tepidarium, jacuzzi, and Roman steam bath would make it a more complete wellness destination. Some guests weren’t following basic sauna hygiene. In general, saunas should be entered naked and barefoot, with a sheet or towel where appropriate, and you should sit or lie on a towel under both your body and feet. Don’t apply products before entering. Peeling or sauna honey belongs only in the final round. In steam rooms, rinse the seats before and after use. Personal water bottles shouldn’t be brought into saunas. Clearer rules and firmer enforcement would improve the atmosphere and standards. The hours could also be better. For example, opening from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM would allow for a slow morning session or a relaxing evening under the mountains. Swimwear shouldn’t be worn in saunas for health and hygiene reasons. Synthetic fabrics are made for lower temperatures and may release harmful substances at high heat. Wet swimwear can create a place for bacteria and interfere with circulation and even heating of the body. Following traditional sauna principles is essential to getting the full health benefits. The property has extraordinary views and a strong foundation. With better breakfast, longer hours, firmer hygiene rules, and a wider choice of saunas, it could reach a world-class level.

We got a weekday special for the spa and an overnight stay, $476 total for everything, and wow, it was perfect. The spa rituals were wonderful, there was plenty of space for everyone, and the little food place inside served good food. We also loved all the Rocky Mountain soap co products in the change rooms. We spent five hours there, and it was a perfect spa day. The hotel was great too. No complaints.
