I'm here for a week-long work trip at Comfort Inn Surrey, and it's been a really disappointing stay. I told staff on my first day that I need gluten-free and dairy-free breakfast food. Since breakfast comes with the room and there was little I could eat from the usual selection, they said they'd arrange something basic, like gluten-free toast or a bagel. It's day four now, and nothing has been set up. Each morning I hear that management didn't arrange it. The breakfast staff member has been polite and apologetic, but management hasn't offered a fix or alternatives for the remaining days. Breakfast supplies have also been an issue. Trays are left empty, and often there are no apples or bananas by the time I arrive. Then, after my first night, I found a bug on my pillow or bed. I reported it right away, and staff said the room had been cleaned, but guests shouldn't find bugs there. I know this isn't a luxury five-star hotel, but basic cleanliness, communication, and care still matter, especially at these prices. It's been a poor experience. I'm very disappointed, wouldn't recommend this place, and won't come back.

The price was reasonable, the location suited me, and breakfast was more than enough. My room was comfortable and clean, and the front desk experience was pleasant. It's not a five-star hotel, but it did a good job of what it aims to do. I'd consider staying again.
There is no pool, hot tub, or waterslide here. We booked at the last minute, and the front desk man was rude and dismissive when we checked in. We mentioned the pool, but he didn't tell us it wasn't at the hotel. The page has a quick link and photos suggesting a pool and waterslide, but those pictures aren't even of the nearby Rec centre. In the morning, my husband and kids went downstairs in their swimsuits and only then learned there was no pool. Looking through reviews afterward, I saw others had similar experiences. The hotel should fix this. I wouldn't have paid such a high price for bad attitudes, poor breakfast, and misleading information. Letting that photo represent the hotel feels dishonest. The cleanliness needs work too. Common areas weren't tidy, and the bathroom in our room could have been cleaned better. The tub drained very slowly. The pull-out sofa was broken, and staff had no alternative to offer. The king bed sagged badly on one side. Breakfast was low on items and wasn't replenished as it should have been. They even put cereal that had fallen on the counter back into the dispenser. This hotel reflects badly on Comfort Inn and Suites values.
The hotel is centrally located for what I needed, and the self-serve breakfast was good. The rooms have been renovated recently and were clean, though the mini pillows weren't for me. If you're particular about pillows, bring your own. SkyTrain construction can slow down the commute.
We stayed during a fully booked sports tournament weekend, and the breakfast and cleaning were the biggest problems. The food wasn't great, and they kept running out of lots of items. Some things were slow to come back, and others weren't replenished at all. It felt like they were cutting corners to save money, despite knowing the hotel was sold out. Breakfast should have been planned for the crowd. The cleaning seemed limited to the surface. I watched a staff member mop the large front area with a wet mop without rinsing it or dipping it in water, so it looked like they were just spreading the dirt around. We have another trip to the area next month and will make a point of staying somewhere else. They lost a potential repeat customer by being cheap.
