Four Points by Sheraton Surrey

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good, but I'm very disappointed by what happened after checkout. I only caught the extra charge because someone had warned me to check. They hadn't refunded my incidentals, so I called and asked for a receipt. Looking it over, I saw I'd also been charged for an extra night. I contacted the hotel about it and had to give them my reservation number, even though they repeatedly said they already had the right number and all my information. I'm concerned about how many other people may have lost money without noticing.

We were put in Room 112 at check-in on 14 Feb 2026, right beside the gym. Whoever thought that was a good layout clearly didn't consider the soundproofing, which is dreadful. At 9 p.m., kids were still running, shouting and throwing things down the corridor. No staff came out to deal with it. This was the most appalling accommodation experience I've had in all my travels. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

The location suited what we needed, and I'm usually pretty flexible about budget places, but this one felt off. It looked run-down from outside, and the rooms were small, though otherwise fine. The real problem was having no hot water at all during our stay. Saving money isn't worth cold showers in a place that looks this sketchy. There are better value options.

We stayed for five days. The staff at the front desk and restaurant were great, and I liked having a pool and gym. Free coffee in the lobby was handy when heading out early. The location was okay, about a 20-minute walk from Guilford Town Centre, or $10-12 by Uber per trip. Save-On-Foods, a liquor store and a few fast food places are within a five-minute walk. The room could've been cleaner, I'd give it 3 stars for that and it needs improvement. The beds were too soft, with so many covers that I felt uncomfortable and got tangled up trying to sleep. If those things don't bother you, it's a good hotel for a short stay.
