Surrey Central Inn

I spent the night sitting in a chair from 2 to 9 in the morning after getting bed bug bites. I wasn't willing to risk my health or my baby's by sleeping in that bed. I'm pregnant, and I contacted Canada's health department. I plan to leave bad reviews wherever I can and contact every health department possible. The sheets and mattress were covered in what looked like blood, semen, and pee stains. We pulled all the sheets off to check for more spiders, and found the mattress was disgusting too. There were spiders on the pillows, the towels were filthy, and the floors hadn't been mopped. The manager was rude and blamed spiders on an open restroom window, but there wasn't even a window in our restroom. The owner replied to my review saying they were sorry, valued my feedback, would retrain maintenance, and would take steps to prevent this again. I think that's a complete lie. I've read reviews from a year ago describing bad experiences and dirty rooms, and nothing seems to have changed. This is a health risk. It doesn't matter whether someone pays $50 or $200, the hotel should be clean. The online photos are pretty and draw people in, but what we found was totally different. They don't even refund people for staying in a nasty place. I want my deposit back. I see two transactions on my account and no refund, and it's been almost a week. I can't believe they leave sheets with visible blood, semen, and pee on them. This place should be condemned. Stay away unless you want to risk getting a disease.

My friend and I were on a budget and needed somewhere for an event, so the price worked well. The staff were incredibly friendly and seemed genuine. Still, if you can spend more, I would. On the way down to my car, I saw a few people tweaking on drugs, and it was a scary scene. There were bugs in the hotel, though not bed bugs. Bugs are part of life and they just happen, in my opinion. If you can afford a nicer place, pay extra, and please don't bring kids here.

I've stayed here twice. The first time was okay, nothing special, and it didn't look very nice. Since the new management came in, it seems the decor, walls, and stairs have been updated. The beds looked clean, and there was TV, cable, and air conditioning. I didn't see cops or crackheads hanging around this time. There's no coffee in the room now, but you can get some in the office. There isn't food on site, though there are lots of places nearby to eat, including Surrey Central Mall.

The room smelled of Lysol, but the bed looked dirty. There was hair in the shower, wet paint on the walls, a chipped and cracked toilet, and a door that wouldn't lock. Late at night people kept knocking on my door until I finally snapped and asked for a refund. The night clerk said he couldn't authorize one, and only grudgingly called a manager after I kept making a fuss. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but I was still hugely disappointed. Easily the worst hotel I've stayed in. It's a dump. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car.
