Sunny Island by White Rock B&B

Sunny and Island were so kind and welcoming, thanks for looking after us. I enjoyed my three nights there. It's a beautiful home with a great atmosphere, and the people clearly take good care of both the house and their guests. Keep up the good work.

We'd like to come back. The hosts were friendly, genuinely nice, and helpful, and breakfast was delicious and healthy each day, served at whatever time we requested. The modern house was spotless and in a nice, safe neighborhood, with White Rock just a quick drive away. It felt much nicer staying here than in a typical hotel.

The bathroom was filthy, and the curtains were damaged, so the streetlight kept the room bright all night. During a heatwave, the owner wouldn't let us use the air conditioner. When I finally switched it on around 11 PM, it was shut off after ten minutes. That on and off cycle kept going through the night, and I was sweating and unable to sleep. I arrived expecting a hotel because Priceline and Booking.com advertised Sunny Island by White Rock as a “4-star hotel.” I was shocked to find it was a residential homestay. Even the owner acknowledged that it wasn't a four-star hotel. I was charged over $270, though I think a place like this should cost $49 to $89, a 3-5x markup. After the owner said my reservation was cancelled, charges I hadn't authorized still appeared on my account after I left Canada. To me, the Priceline listing was fraudulent and the place is a complete scam. It's a poorly maintained homestay with deceptive advertising and terrible customer service. Avoid it.

The hosts themselves were great, so helpful and friendly. We had a comfortable kitchen and clean, luxurious accommodation. The master suite was grand, and the view from the room, dining area, and living space was amazing.
