The host made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the breakfasts were excellent. The house is beautiful, warm, and thoughtfully decorated, and staying there felt relaxed and comfortable. Our host was kind and friendly throughout. We loved Halifax in winter. It still has plenty of life on weekends, with lively neighbourhoods, great food, and a strong local feel. The nearby Nordic spas were a wonderfully relaxing treat after a crisp day out. We’d happily recommend both the stay and a winter visit to Halifax. We’ll definitely visit again, and The Pebble will be our place to stay.

We spent three days in the “armview” suite and enjoyed every minute. In the middle of Halifax’s cold January winter, the house felt so warm and welcoming. Elizabeth, her husband David, and their dog patches were some of the kindest people we met there. It feels less like staying in a bed and breakfast and more like visiting old friends in their home. Liz made excellent omelets, oatmeal, and granola, along with her own coffee blend. I can’t wait to come back in summer.

The Pebble Bed & Breakfast is tucked away from the busy centre, but close to the downtown waterfront and Halifax’s main attractions. The property has the feel of a luxury boutique hotel, with spotless, comfortable rooms, lovely decor, and thoughtful little touches throughout. Our hosts were friendly and attentive, and made us feel at home. It’s a peaceful place for exploring the city, or for a romantic getaway or relaxing weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely return.

Liz’s stories made our visit even more memorable, so don’t miss them. She also helped us find a way to see Halifax and arranged a dinner reservation on short notice. We ended up having one of the best meals we’ve ever had, and it wasn’t at an expensive restaurant. The Pebble sits in a quiet residential neighbourhood, about a 30-minute walk from downtown. It’s a beautiful home filled with paintings by a local artist, and the gallery Liz bought from is an easy walk away. Our room was comfortable, with a luxurious bed and a large bathroom, including a big tub, a great shower, and fresh peonies in a vase. My wife and I felt at ease as soon as we arrived. Liz served tea and wonderful scones at her kitchen table, then asked about our dinner plans. We had none, and she quickly came up with a suggestion. If we make it back to Halifax, we’ll book The Pebble again.

We were lucky to have Liz and the house to ourselves at the start of the season, when we began our first trip to Nova Scotia. Our four-night stay in the Armview Suite was very comfortable, and we enjoyed walks around the neighbourhood as well as hiking and sightseeing. The decor and art were stunning. Liz made delicious breakfasts, and each day brought local tips and good conversation. We’d gladly come back.
