The Georgetown Inn

After coming to Canmore and Banff for nine years, we’d somehow never found this gem. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and there’s a great selection of drinks alongside a huge food menu. After trying the beer and food, I’d give it 10/10. It’s my new go-to spot. Thanks for making our visit such an enjoyable one. We’ll definitely be back, probably tomorrow evening. 🤗 ⭐️

We spent the night at Georgetown Inn on March 13, 2026. I booked it because the price was so reasonable, and wow, we were pleasantly surprised. The location was perfect for us, right in the centre, and the staff were kind and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy, and the place was very quiet. From the old English-style exterior to the quaint room, we felt right at home. Cleanliness matters a lot to us, and both the room and bathroom were extremely clean. The beds and linens were very comfortable. We loved all the thoughtful touches: teas and coffee, fresh milk available for a drink or cookie, teacups and saucers, a homemade cookie, two bottles of water in the mini fridge, Aveda toiletries, and a dark facecloth for makeup instead of the usual white one. There was also a lovely electric fireplace for extra warmth and ambiance. There was plenty of parking beside the building. We ate at another restaurant for dinner, but afterward wished we’d tried the hotel restaurant. It looked like a great English pub for a drink and meal. I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

The room was the highlight, absolutely breathtaking, and the staff were friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. We appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, and bottled water, and the clawfoot soaker tub was big enough for two and a dream to use. The floors kept noise from the pub below to a minimum, but the walls were thin enough that we could clearly hear the neighbors, which made it hard to relax and sleep. The curtains also let in a lot of light, so the room stayed bright through the night. At the pub, the service was excellent, attentive, friendly, and caring. The scotch eggs and sticky toffee pudding were fantastic and definite must-orders. Fish and chips were decent, though not especially memorable, and the batter could have used more flavor. The carbonara was a major letdown: the sauce had curdled, so it was more like noodles with scrambled eggs, and it lacked flavor. The bacon pieces were delicious, but couldn’t save the dish. Hotel: 4/5 stars. Pub: 3/5 stars.

We booked three nights at Georgetown Inn for our 20th wedding anniversary, and had an amazing time. A receptionist at the front desk, sorry, I can’t remember her name, left a congratulations card and a small bottle of champagne for us to share in the room. The front desk was always super helpful with anything we needed. We liked the older-style rooms, especially the clawfoot tub, and the hallways had lots of posters with short descriptions of movies filmed in the Kananaskis area. We also had breakfast and dinner at the Pub on a couple of nights. The food was delicious and the service was great. We’d definitely book here again. Thanks for a lovely stay!
