The Yellow Sidecar B&B

The sunsets from the front deck, with the sun seeming to sink straight into the ocean, were unforgettable. Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the surrounding trails are beautiful, and the west coast sunsets are hard to match. What made the trip special, though, was Brenda and Roger. They shared stories and ideas for things to do around Cheticamp, and pointed out little corners of the area we might otherwise have driven past. Their breakfasts were delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with personal touches. The historic B&B is lovely, very clean, and has modern bathrooms and showers, phone outlets, and a fridge for storing food for the next day's hike. Brenda and Roger made us feel welcome, relaxed, and comfortable. In a time of keyless check-ins and AI travel planning, real people like them make a vacation memorable. Thank you both.

The rocky shore is very close, with wonderful views and dramatic waves when it's windy. We were four people sharing two rooms, and had a fabulous stay. Roger and Brenda are great hosts with plenty to say about the region and what's going on. Breakfast was superb. Couldn't have asked for a better visit.

They even packed the blueberry scones we couldn't finish so we could take them on our hike. Brenda and Roger were warm hosts from the moment we arrived at their lovely beach home. We slept with the cool sea breeze coming through the bedroom window, and the extra sitting area and fridge made things more comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the scones. They suggested local sights and a great quilt shop nearby, then called ahead to see if it was open. A real highlight of our time in the Highlands.

During two nights here on a hiking trip, I was completely impressed. Roger and Brenda were kind, attentive, and funny, and the breakfasts they made were amazing. The room was spacious and clean, and the location was excellent. I'd absolutely recommend this place to friends or family traveling through the area.
