Merchant's Manor

We could enjoy the room, but felt uncomfortable spending time elsewhere in the house. The bed was comfortable, the jacuzzi was hot and pleasant, and there was plenty of hot water. Those were the only things we liked about the B&B. We'd booked the largest room with the jacuzzi a week ahead, yet nobody told us that lots of people who weren't staying there would be in the house all evening preparing for a wedding the following night. We paid over $200 for a mediocre room at a mediocre B&B, and got less in the way of features and service than we expected. They didn't offer a special rate for the disruption, and seemed more focused on making money. My husband and I badly needed a getaway, so we still had a good time in our room, but the management really fell short. We knew the dining room would be closed for supper, so we brought food since it was Good Friday and expected most places to be shut. Breakfast was nothing special, just eggs, bacon and toast, and the coffee was terrible. While we ate, the wedding organizers were bustling around to finish setting up. The inside and outside of the property also need serious sprucing up.
