Motel Fraser

The pool was a highlight for the kids. It’s an okay place for one night, but for a longer stay, make sure staff know you want your room cleaned. We could hear the noise from the room above us.

When my car battery died overnight, I asked the waitress about nearby garages. She brought a cook over from the line, and he drove his car over to give me a boost. I got a look at the kitchen afterward, and it was the cleanest, most organized one I’ve ever seen. The staff are top notch, and the lovely people running the place clearly take great care. We’d had other accommodation fall through and were lucky to find Motel Fraser. The receptionist was friendly, clear, and bilingual. Rooms are clean and modern, with an AMAZING shower, a mini-fridge big enough for a cooler full of food, and free guest Wifi. Breakfast is standard fare, but the fresh ingredients set it apart from lots of other places along the way.

The beef tartare was the best I’ve had, and I’m a picky eater. I loved the whole stay. My room smelled fresh and was clean, with nice furniture. The art and decor made it even better for me. The epoxy and wood bar in the restaurant’s drink area is absolutely beautiful.

The room was basic but nice, quiet, and had no real issues. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the towels were lovely, and the cleaning lady was friendly and helpful. But skip the restaurant. We were tired and it was raining, so we had food brought to the room, and that was a mistake. The spaghetti portion was half empty and not worth the price. The chicken was dry and barely warm; I asked for potato but got old, cold fries, and even the bun was burnt. The sauce tasted strange. The little cup of coleslaw was the best part of the meal. They did bring the potato we ordered and add sauce to our meal, but I’d eat somewhere else.
