The only drawback was the heat. The room thermostat was set at 76 F, so we were roasting and had to open all the windows and turn on the window AC. We hadn’t expected that in Canada, coming from Arizona! Still, my sister and I greatly enjoyed staying in this quaint inn in the heart of Charlottetown in October. We were in the main building, where the most charming rooms were. There was great “scope for imagination,” and I kept picturing Anne Shirley appearing around the corner. One of the desk clerks even brought a series character to mind. Our only regret was having to leave so soon!

The patio policy was disappointing. I wasn’t allowed to eat my own food there unless I bought a drink from the bar, even though the space was barely occupied. The hotel has a nice patio and indoor dining area, but there’s no operational restaurant on-site, and the spaces seemed mainly used for drinks. Parking is very limited and could be a problem when it’s busy. The shower tap was difficult to operate and took a lot of force to turn on. The rooms are quite compact and dated, and the old, rusty air conditioning unit gave off an unpleasant smell when switched on, which affected comfort. There were some unusual thoughtful touches, like an in-room fire extinguisher and umbrella. The property has a distinctive European-style charm, especially at the front desk, which felt more like a quaint inn than a typical hotel. Thanks to Navdeep at the front desk for welcoming us. The ambiance and hospitality were pleasant, but the cramped rooms, old facilities, limited amenities, and patio restriction made the stay less comfortable than expected. It’s a charming boutique option, but be ready for those drawbacks.

The rooms are charming and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The location made it easy to walk around downtown and old town Charlottetown. We left wishing we’d booked more nights.

We were on the third floor of the main building for three nights, and the room was bigger than expected, very clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the property is absolutely beautiful. The front patio was perfect for summer evening nightcaps. There’s no restaurant on site, but downtown restaurants and pubs are very close. The location is amazing for walking around downtown Charlottetown and the waterfront. I’d highly recommend it and would stay again. Thanks for a great experience!

The room was spotless and comfortable, with beautiful design and an old artistic charm that fit the inn’s historic character. Staying at Dundee Arms Inn felt like a little piece of PEI history, with the cleanliness and comfort you’d want from a hotel. But what stood out most was the staff’s kindness and warmth. They went above and beyond to make us feel cared for and make our one-night stay special. A cozy, charming place with a unique, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
