UPEI Summer Accommodations

We stayed in a three-bedroom suite in the performing arts building. It felt almost brand new, with enormous bedrooms and living space. There’s a kitchen, but no dishes or other kitchenware, so bring your own if you plan to cook. For a family visiting Charlottetown, the space and price make this a clear best choice.

Full breakfast was a pleasant surprise, and the lower price made sense compared with other university accommodation I've tried, which was much nicer. This place is very basic, in an old building with little signage. The front desk wasn't helpful, and it took me 5-10 minutes to find my room in a separate building. Parking was also a distance away.

The front desk student workers were kind and helpful when we called, but that was the only good part of our stay at UPEI. Our two-bedroom suite in Blanchard Hall was filthy, especially the floors and sofas, which had huge stains, and two window screens were broken. We had to fiddle with the electrical box to get the stove going. The fridge seemed close to failing and made loud screeching noises from time to time, which kept disrupting us, especially at night. There was no A/C or fan. For a run-down place like this, the price was far too high.

We were pleasantly surprised by this modern building after past stays in Canadian university dorms with poor rooms and no temperature control. Our suite was huge and fully air-conditioned, with a high ceiling, three separate rooms, a kitchen, and a shared toilet and bathroom. The sheets and towels were clean, and the Wi-Fi was decent. Staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in and checkout were quick. We loved it and highly recommend it.
