Cobble Wood Guesthouse

Cobble Wood and Bird Sanctuary was a great place to stay in Tofino, and I had a great time there in June. It was close to Mackenzie beach and just a short drive from Chesterman's beach, with basically everything nearby. I'd stay again, and highly recommend it.

We stayed in the Sandpiper suite and couldn't have asked for a better apartment. The guesthouses are stunning and very well equipped. Ken and Michelle were wonderful hosts, knowledgeable about the area and all the possibilities nearby. They helped with everything we needed to make the stay memorable.

The kitchen was well equipped, the wifi reliable, and the bed and bathroom were comfortable. It was clean, quiet, and a good size for a couple, with hosts on site. Town is easy to reach by bike or car, and a beach is close by on foot or by bike. It seems there's a program in place to keep the place modern. The seating and table were good, though the sofa wasn't especially comfortable. In town, we found the restaurants good, especially the Indian one, which was tasty and a change from the usual hamburger, breaded chicken, or steak. The Whale Centre tour was excellent. Book well ahead if you want to kayak with Tofino Sea Kayaking.

The Humming Bird suite gave us a very quiet escape. I think it has the best view in the whole guest house, looking out through the windows over the forest. It's on the second floor, so it's the quietest suite in the house. There was more than enough room for two, the bed was comfy, and the kitchenette had all the basic cooking things we needed. The shared BBQ was a nice addition, and the clean room had everything we needed and more. Check-in and checkout were smooth and hassle-free. The house is conveniently located between long beach and town, about a 10-minute drive to each. The owners answered my questions very patiently, both during my stay and even after I checked out. If you're after a quiet escape, nature and bird song, friendly hosts, and a worry-free stay, this is the place.
