The room was clean and comfortable, but the door's safety lock was broken or missing. It was also odd having to check in through a busy server at the pub next door. The price was ridiculous, I guess because it was the night before a holiday. My receipt said $170, but Expedia charged $277.

The room is basic, with thin walls and metal-framed windows that sweat. The hot water was what disappointed me most. It was only lukewarm, so a proper hot bath wasn't possible. I told staff and they switched tanks, but the water didn't get hotter. A shower was bearable with only the hot tap on, and other people complained about this too. It's also called McNeill's Inn.

We left a day early after one problem after another, from arrival through checkout. The pub staff where we checked in were courteous and tried to help. But after I told the owner what our room was like, they offered a $100 discount, then quickly withdrew it when I said I wouldn't stay a second night. We did get a refund for that second night and gladly left first thing in the morning. The location is great, but the hotel is a wreck. One bed had clearly been remade after the previous guest, with dozens of hairs between the sheets and a dirty pillowcase. The beds were old and sagged at the edges, so we slept poorly. The room's only chair had a broken leg, and the blinds were broken too, so people could look in. There were old spider webs across the doorway. The sink bowl immediately filled when we turned on the water, and lots of mould came up from the drain. The tub had mouldy caulking around it, so we didn't shower. We also had to hip-check the door while turning the key to get it to lock. We don't mind budget hotels, but this wasn't a bargain, and at $220 a night we expected somewhere clean and functional. There's clearly little pride of ownership or concern for customers. I wish I'd taken pictures of how disgusting it was. Save yourself some grief and stay elsewhere.

I appreciated the binder with the WiFi details and the easy checkout instructions. The location was great, and the room had everything I needed, with plenty of towels and extra blankets. It was comfortable and well furnished, and the bathroom was big. Glad I stayed, and I'd definitely return.

The room was basic but affordable, and the beds were comfortable. It had the essentials, including an older TV, a tiny fridge, and a microwave. I only stayed because I needed a place, and I wouldn't recommend it because of how I was treated. At check-in, someone greeted me nicely, went to get the paperwork, then left it with the bar staff. Three of them ignored me for at least 15 minutes while puttering around. I asked when the kitchen closed and was told in about an hour, but nobody asked if I wanted anything. I sat waiting, then asked for a soda in a to-go cup because I had to leave. They said they had no takeout cups. After travelling all day, tired, hungry, and thirsty, I felt a small glass of soda, juice, or water on the house would have been the hospitable thing to do. Eventually the first person came back, surprised I was still there, showed me the invoice to sign, gave me the keys, and said to call if I had concerns. I said I probably wouldn't, since I couldn't even get acknowledged there. The young woman apologized, though it wasn't really her fault. The top security lock on the room door was broken, but pushed back to look functional. We couldn't shower with our toddler there, since they could reach the handle and possibly run out. At checkout I explained this to the bar staff and got a shrug and disregard. They said those locks commonly break.
