We only managed one night and wished we’d booked longer. The lake has hiking trails nearby, and there are lots of things to keep kids busy. You can use the kayaks and boats there for free, which was a great addition. Our cabin in the forest by the lake was spacious, well equipped, and cozy, and the staff made us feel welcome.

What upset me most was that Alpine Meadows Resort wouldn’t honor its own written confirmation or the price we had agreed on. The lack of transparency and accountability spoiled what should have been a peaceful holiday. If we’d known the resort might change the terms after our stay, we would have booked somewhere else. I can’t recommend Alpine Meadows Resort based on this experience. We booked in May 2025 for an October 2025 stay, at a specific agreed price. In August, the resort advertised a free third night for October stays booked for two nights. Since our trip was in October, I emailed the front desk and asked if we could get the offer. They clearly said yes in writing. After we left, my card was charged for all three nights. When I asked about it, I got confusing explanations and a long back-and-forth. Eventually, front desk manager Christina Nadjiwan said the offer didn’t apply because we’d booked back in May. That made no sense to me, since the offer was for October stays, not bookings made in a certain month. Even after I showed them their written confirmation, the manager wouldn’t stand by what her team had promised. They changed the pricing, taking away our previously agreed rate and charging full price while giving us one free night. It felt unfair and misleading, and was handled badly from start to finish. The money and terms they committed to should have been honored. Changing them afterward and putting customers through confusion and hassle earns distrust, not loyalty. A resort should keep its word and be transparent. Alpine Meadows Resort failed on both counts.

The long dirt road had us wondering what we’d find, but the lodges turned out to be a lovely hidden gem. We stayed two nights during our honeymoon, on the way from Jasper to Whistler, and spent the time relaxing and kayaking on the lake so we didn’t have to head back down the road. We used the breakfast facilities and cooked our other meals. Clearwater is the closest place to get groceries, so stock up there before driving to the lodges. Thank you for a gorgeous stay!

The nature around the property is beautiful, and the whole area was kept very clean and tidy. The cabins were clean and had good equipment, though they looked more modern outside than inside. We didn’t eat at the restaurants since they didn’t look very inviting. We got there at 2:30, half an hour before check-in, and were told the cabin still needed cleaning, so we waited outside. It turned out it had already been cleaned, but they still wouldn’t let us check in even a minute early. That was a shame.

We even had a bear visit our cabin, which was fantastic, and the views were amazing. The cabins were comfortable and had everything we needed. The restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. We stayed two nights on our way from Jasper to Vancouver, and were surprised to find such a great resort hidden after several kilometers on a dirt road. We weren’t sure what to expect on the drive in. If you’re looking for a quiet break while traveling, I’d highly recommend it.
