We got upgraded from a standard suite to a King suite at no extra charge, and the photos I posted are of that room. It was clean and had dishes and a plug-in cook-top. Housekeeping did a great job each day. I only wish the sound insulation were better. Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, and they quickly dealt with some very loud, disrespectful people in the hallways. Check-in was easy. The pool was large, though a bit chilly, and I would have preferred steps instead of ladders. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on it, but I wish breakfast were included. Parking was free and the lot seemed big enough. We had a great stay and would happily return.

The staff were professional, polite, and helpful, but there were a few letdowns. The restaurant dishes and cutlery had a greasy film, and there were food crumbs on the phone, table, and carpet in our somewhat dated room. The airport shuttle had no heat and frost on the inside of its windows. It only started warming up when we reached the airport.

This review is for 6090 Dixie Rd, since there are several hotels with the same name near Toronto Airport. I stayed over 10 nights for a seminar and had what I needed onsite: a pool, fitness centre, bar, restaurant with breakfast and dinner but no lunch, plus a microwave, fridge, and coffee machine in the room. There’s coin-operated laundry too. The airport shuttle can pick you up and take you back, but you need to let them know in advance and get on the schedule. It doesn’t run hourly. Breakfast was a buffet, and dinner had a good range of choices. I tried minestrone soup and the Beyond Burger, but the salmon was my favourite. The front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, and it was nice seeing many of the same dinner staff each night. My one problem was the fridge was set so cold that it froze my protein drinks and ruined them.

We’ve stayed here before, and it’s clearly improved. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable, and there was no noticeable wear. We skipped breakfast, but it looked fresh and tasty, and staff kept the stations tidy and stocked. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. The shuttle ran smoothly, and Bharat at the front desk went out of his way to keep my wife updated on where I was after my phone died. We really appreciated that. Downstairs, the bar has sports on and a good choice of beers on tap, with a relaxed sports-bar feel. Next door there’s a gas station and classic convenience store with snacks and even beer, plus a Tim Hortons. The complimentary lobby coffee is much better, though. The gym and pool are more than enough for a quick workout and swim. We’d requested a crib, and it was waiting in our room with a clean mattress and sheet. This was a great stay, and we’ll use the hotel before and after flights through Pearson Airport.

Kirsh was fantastic in the bar and restaurant. On a busy night he ran the whole place himself, stayed on top of everything, and was personable and respectful. He made some really good drinks. We appreciate how hard he worked. We’d booked for two days before our vacation. The room was decent, though the top comforter was stained. We were told breakfast was included, then found out it cost $20 per person. It was an okay, typical hotel buffet, but not worth that price. A staff member told us a woman who came into the hotel was a “working woman, she makes men happy.” She was across the hall from us, and we could hear her working. Having her boy toys coming and going all night was concerning and very uncomfortable. Both elevators were broken, so people had to carry luggage on the stairs without help. We saw a pregnant woman on the fifth floor carrying all her family’s luggage and a baby in a car seat. I know mechanical failures happen, but some help for people who need it would have been useful. For the price, I expected a lot more.
