Clearwater Valley Resort

Update: I emailed the address they gave me for the promised refund, but it’s invalid. This feels like a major scam, and I’m taking it higher up. Last September, in 2025, we drove in excited to stay in the highest-priced room available. It was dirty and stank, with the smell covered by synthetic air freshener. The stairs were dangerously rotten, the pool was dirty, the playground was held together with duct tape, and there was garbage and cigarette butts all over the grounds. We lasted 15 minutes. My son slipped in the public restroom, hurt his wrist, and came out crying, but the front desk girl ignored him. I told her we were unhappy with the state of the room and grounds and wanted to leave. When I asked for a refund, she said I had to speak to the Manager. I tried for MONTHS to reach P. POTS. They took my ID and information, promised a refund, and I’ve never received it. This was the WORST travel experience we’ve had. I would NEVER recommend this resort. It’s an expensive dump with terrible management.

The location is great, but the room amenities were awful. The toilet cover and seat were chipped, and there was a stain, possibly bodily fluid, on the underside of the duvet. The lamp switch was loose and unreliable, and the wall outlet wouldn’t hold the lamp cable properly. The room was small with just one chair, so we had to bring our own folding table.

The restaurant is the big draw for us, even though I used to think it was the pool. The food is so good every time, and both boys approve. We get takeout to eat at our site, though the restaurant looks clean and relaxing too. We’ve stayed here with our trailer every year for the past five years on the way to the coast, and it’s been better since these folks left the KOA a few years ago. The campground is nice to walk around, the pond is peaceful, and the pool is perfect for a family swim after a long day. The RV and tent sites are lovely. Some are close together, but most have plenty of trees. There are garbage and recycling bins everywhere, so there’s no excuse to litter. The bathrooms are dated, but upgrades are underway. Seeing how much work has gone into the place over the last year makes me excited for the changes. Staff have always been great, friendly, and helpful.

We spent a week here with our family of four because of a family emergency. We had to book two days at a time, but they were very accommodating and let us stay in the same room the whole week. The room and grounds were clean, and the beds were comfortable. We spent most of our time at the hospital, so we didn’t use the available services or features. I’d recommend the place, and if we’re in the area again, we’ll book at the Clearwater Resort.
