Overlook Inn & Cabins

Probably the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable, prices were reasonable, and the owners were very friendly. They have a very cute dog, too. They accommodated my request for an early check-in without any issue. What more could I ask for?

It was so quiet among the trees, and the dark made for a perfect night's sleep. My husband and I loved the cabin's old rustic charm and simple feel. It had everything we needed and more, and we both slept great in the bed. The staff were super friendly and very kind. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Five stars from me.

We were so thankful to the owner and staff for taking us in on a rainy night when we had nowhere else to go. We got to Clearwater at 10:30 pm in a downpour, without reservations, and the hotels we'd called were full. My spouse, who has better luck than I do, reached this place and they offered us a cabin at the walk-in price. The man at the front desk was welcoming, and check-in was simple, without the usual fuss over deposits and hotel transactions. It's quiet and clean, with lots of hummingbirds and berries behind the cabins. The river is a three minute walk away, and the cabins are away from busy traffic. We liked it so much that we kept extending at the last minute, and they accommodated us three days in a row. We really enjoyed our vacation and found it hard to leave Clearwater. Still, do book ahead if you can, unlike us. We could have camped, but the mosquitoes were life threatening, lol. The amenities aren't five star, but everything else made up for that. Cabins 1-5 seem to have separate bedrooms, while Cabin 6 is more like a super cozy studio. We liked Cabin 6 best. Our room had a kitchenette with dishes, utensils, and even small pots, making it a great place for a longer stay. Some negative reviews made me laugh. I learned from managing group tours in Jasper a while ago that when someone has a bad day or gets fog and rain instead of a mountain view, they can fixate on every room problem.

After a stressful trip, I was lucky to find Overlook Inn, even though it's a little off the beaten path. Colin was great when I arrived, friendly and efficient, with a quick, simple check-in and brochures. Room 7 was perfect, very clean and fully stocked, so I didn't have to unload my car. I'll be back in the area next week, and this will be where I stay. Great job, Overlook. Wishing you continued success.
