Super 8 by Wyndham Hardisty

The rooms were really clean, and the hotel even smelled nice. We overslept, but the front desk woman kept breakfast open late and waited for us. She was kind and helpful, bringing extra towels and pillows as quickly as she could. She also pointed out that I had more than one Windham account and explained how to fix it. We hadn't expected much from an older hotel in such a small town, but this turned out to be one of our best hotel stays. Definitely recommend it.

I stayed three days and had housekeeping each day. The room was spacious and clean, and there were complimentary breakfast options. The front desk staff were excellent. I enjoyed my stay and recommend it to everyone.

We've stayed here several times for work, and each time there's been a "damage" charge over dirty towels. It's just dirt that should come out in a regular wash. If the laundry can't get it out, that makes me question the laundry service overall. This is an oilfield service town, and if white towels are that hard to clean, maybe they should provide the different-coloured washcloths other hotels have. We've taken the hotel off our work list because of the cleanliness, the dark hallways (which seem like an OH&S hazard), and the poor front desk service. Hopefully things improve enough that we might consider coming back someday, but for now we'll stay elsewhere.

For a small town business, this place was great, and I'll book here for the rodeo next year. I'd read some reviews before my trip and found a few really unfair. Check-in seemed normal to me, like at any other hotel, and although the wifi wasn't great, it's rural Alberta. The hotel was quiet, very clean, and looked recently updated or built. Staff were warm, used my name whenever I passed the desk, and I had no issues at all. There were two cloths in the room for greasy, messy stuff, which I took as makeup cloths. Lots of hotels have those now, and I prefer them since some makeup is hard to wash out of towels at home. Breakfast was free and looked pretty solid, though I didn't try it because I'm not a breakfast person. Thanks for a great stay!
