Clearwater Country Inn & RV Park

After driving across Alberta into BC, this was a great place to stop and the rate was really good. We arrived late, and the front desk staff member gave us helpful suggestions for finding food. The beds were firm but comfortable, and the renovated bathroom with its deep tub was a nice surprise.

Glenda was really nice and accommodating. Our room was super clean, and we had an awesome stay.

I watched the owner go up to a traveller who was hitchhiking and getting his things together to leave, say hello, and then start screaming at him just because he was sitting behind the Hungry Hiker, which had previously been damaged by fire. The way she treats people when they aren’t paying to stay here says a lot. 10/10, I wouldn’t stay here again.

For the price, this was just right for our family reunion, and we’d definitely come back for another family trip. We were 12 people staying across the motel and campsite, and they reserved rooms beside one another with the campsite close by. It isn’t a high-end motel, but it suited our needs well. The new owners clearly take pride in the place. They were busy updating things, cleaning the pool, and making sure we had what we needed. The pool was heated and clean, there was always fresh-cut firewood, and housekeeping was friendly and fantastic. The rooms were basic, but the beds were cozy, the water was always hot, the AC worked well, and having a kitchenette was handy for the week. The campsite was quiet and peaceful. For outdoor outings nearby, our favourites were hiking at Moul Falls and swimming or paddle boarding at Dutch Lake. The 24/7 gas station nearby had plenty of good snacks and movie-theatre-style popcorn. Wild Flour coffee shop is a quick drive down the road. It gets very busy in the morning, but after 11am the line is shorter and the coffees are delicious.
