David Thompson Resort Hotel

If you’re into the outdoors, there are lots of beautiful hiking trails nearby, and the resort makes a wonderful base for enjoying nature. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and ready to help. Try the restaurant’s smoked beef brisket while you’re there, it’s delicious and absolutely worth it. I highly recommend a visit for outdoor adventures.

We spent afternoons walking the Abraham Lake shoreline, surrounded by nature, and had breakfast each morning with beautiful views. The lake sits right behind the property and is known for its scenery. At night we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, which was breathtaking. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the property has a hotel, cabins, and camping areas. The food was delicious, especially the signature dishes. I’m very happy with the resort and will definitely return next year.

We stayed in September last year, and the room was disappointing: there was hair and urine on the toilet seat, the blankets didn’t look freshly washed, the baseboards were dusty, and there was hair in the shower drain. Since it was late and we were exhausted, we stayed that night, then left early the next morning without asking for a refund. At $275, it wasn’t worth even a dollar.

The place is modest and functional, with minimalist, clean, spacious accommodations. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.
