Grenfell Campus Summer Accommodations

A workman left a bucket of Sheetrock and a tool behind after patching the wall. The room was roomy, but far too hot, with no air conditioning or fan. The front desk had no portable fans available. As in many high-rises, the windows opened only about 10 percent, so we bought a fan from a nearby department store to make the room bearable.

We stayed in the “Chalet,” a dorm-style setup with four single rooms, a kitchen, and one and a half bathrooms. The accommodation was okay, but the window screens all had holes. Parking cost $3.00, even though the website said it was free. I tried to mention these issues at checkout, but nobody was at the counter, so I left a note. A week later, there still hadn’t been a response. Breakfast cost $8 per person and was pathetic: a few slices of white bread, one muffin, and two bagels, with no fruit and no sugar for coffee or tea. We left hungry, so don’t bother paying for breakfast when they don’t provide everything listed.

Starting June 27th, The Grove Restaurant will offer restaurant service from 7am to 7pm, with breakfast, lunch, and supper options. The breakfast is great and comes at an awesome price. The chalets are also great for groups visiting Corner Brook, and Grenfell Conference Services manages them. MUN Campus Enforcement and Patrol provides service around the clock.

A fabulous place to stay. The room was clean and nice, the price was very reasonable, and the staff were friendly. I always enjoy my stays and will definitely come back.
