We stopped here for one night on the way to Montreal. Booking was straightforward, getting in was easy, and breakfast was a nice buffet. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean, with a real fireplace that made it cozy in -25 temps in January. It has character, unlike a cookie-cutter hotel. The outdoor pool might be nice, but it was winter, so I can’t say.

The breakfast service was great, though food came out a bit slowly for the number of people. It happens. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were quick and efficient. This hotel is 20+ years old, but our room was absolutely spotless. No dust in obvious places, stains, hairs, dirty spots, missed areas, or dead bugs. People pay more attention to cleanliness and details after COVID, and this really stood out. Highly recommended, and I’d stay again.

We booked the jacuzzi suite just before Christmas, and it felt cozy, warm, and luxurious while still being homey. It barely cost more than a regular room. The bed was so comfortable, and the room was wonderfully quiet for sleeping. There were two rooms, a fireplace, and lots of thoughtful touches. The hotel looked beautiful with its holiday decorations, and the staff were great. There’s a fireplace in the dining room, too, where breakfast is served. We’ll be back.

The on-site restaurant was fabulous, with generous portions, fair prices, and top-notch service. The room was great and very clean, and the whole place had a cozy inn feel with beautiful decor. We’re definitely making it a regular stop on our travels.

We ate at Hops and Barley, and the food and service were amazing. I had the Chicken Marsala and finished it before I could take a picture. There are two restaurants in the building. The room was clean and had a fireplace, and the staff were outstanding and so friendly. Great value for the money, with lovely decor and ambiance. This will be our go-to hotel when we return to Cornwall.
