The Dutch Inn

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and this Dutch Inn had one of the best mattresses and the freshest linens. The service was great, the price can’t be beat, and it looks like they’re updating more things. I’d definitely recommend this spot and will come back. Bless.

The room was tidy and had two beds, seating, a small table, desk, TV, mini fridge, and microwave. But the rooms are older and dated, and the soundproofing was poor. I could hear every footstep and movement from the person above me. The AC/heat pump smelled stale and moldy when it was on. The free breakfast included Costco packs of yogurt, croissants, mini muffins, and two-bite brownies, along with basic salad, plain cereal, toast, and fried eggs. I didn’t see a staff member at all during our two days, which made it hard to communicate the noise issue. A tour bus was staying there, and many rooms had 3+ people. They hung clothes in the hallways and on balconies to dry. The pool was still out of service during our visit.

The room had a cozy feel and was quaint and very clean, with a TV, microwave, and fridge. I’d never had a portable AC in a room before, but it was good to control the temperature and airflow direction myself. Continental breakfast was included. The price felt worthwhile for a location 15-40mins from downtown Charlottetown, Walmart, and Cavendish attractions. The pool was unavailable during construction. I hope the place is even better once that work is done.

We stayed two nights between trips to Charlottetown and loved it. For $199, we had two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a massive living room. The service was great, and the free breakfast had a good, nutritious menu. The location worked well for a vacation, near cows creamery and charlottetown and right beside a cow stable. Thank you, dutch inn. Excellent stay, no debate.
