Crossfield Country Inn

A comfortable bed and extra pillows were already in the room, and they were happy to provide anything else we needed to make the stay pleasant. It’s quiet and easy to rest here, just off the 2A in crossfield. The rooms are clean and modern. We’ll definitely stay again.

We found this clean little place while looking on Google during our travels. We’d stopped to visit family in Calgary and were heading to LaCombe the next day, so it worked well along the way. There’s no complimentary breakfast, though.

At check-in, nobody mentioned any issue, so I parked, unloaded, and brought my two well-behaved Dobermans into the lobby on leashes. The front desk lady immediately yelled and waved her hands, saying “no no no no no” and “no pets.” When I pointed out that the website said pet friendly, she changed it to “only 1 pet.” First it was no pets, then one? I told her the website was misleading and offered to pay a pet fee, but she didn’t care. She was rude, and I felt she was lying about the policy because I had two Dobermans. They were both leashed, well behaved, and held in one hand. We eventually found a new, actually pet friendly hotel. I should have read the reviews first, since someone described a similar experience 9 months ago. I have photos of the dogs at the new hotel.

The room was clean, the shower got hot, and the wifi and a/c worked great. The lady cleaned the room every day. The beds felt a bit stiff and outdated. There’s a coffee machine, but no ironing board or hair dryer. Overall, a good experience.
