Best Western Plus Dauphin

We were in town for a hockey tournament, and the staff made a stressful moment easy. At 1 a.m. on our second night, our child got sick on the bed. They quickly brought fresh bedding and helped us get things back to normal. We had a great stay and will come back for our next tournament.

Our dogs had room to stretch their legs, with a decent amount of green space outside, and we appreciated the complimentary candy bar. The room itself was spacious and spotless, and the bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast had a good spread, including waffles with toppings, eggs, hashbrowns, meat, pastries, breads, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, and tea. The salsa, crunchy mustard, and hot sauce were nice extras. The breakfast attendant was pleasant and efficient. Both the person who checked us in and the one we spoke with at checkout were very friendly. Excellent stay in Dauphin, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Our family barely slept, which was upsetting given what we paid per night. During hockey season, children were yelling outside our door and playing floor hockey all along the hallway. Parents were drinking and talking loudly after quiet time, around 11 p.m. We complained at the front desk, but nothing changed. We were told security was walking around, and that was all they could do. There was no effort to find a solution or improve the experience. Since the policies online mention warnings and removal, why not warn people and remove adults who won't follow the rules respectfully? It felt like paying guests didn't matter because the hockey teams bring in more revenue. Breakfast was also difficult: there were no tables and barely room to get a plate of food. The hotel could keep other families off the same floors as the teams, put the teams on the ground floor, and open the conference room for them to gather. An extra staff member could serve those groups breakfast in the conference room so other guests can enjoy the complimentary breakfast too. I hope things change so all customers are treated fairly. Otherwise, I won't stay here or recommend this place again.

The kids especially loved the pool and waterslide, and breakfast had a convenient range of choices. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room had everything we needed and was comfortable. The Best Western Plus Dauphin is modern, clean, and well cared for. We'd be happy to return, as it's one of the best options in Dauphin.
