Dauphin Inn Express

We had a small problem with our room, but they upgraded us. The service was great!

I was here for two weeks on a work assignment and had never been to Dauphin before. The central location was perfect, with waterslides, a theatre, alcohol, VLTs, and plenty more within reach. Staff put up with a lot, and I commend them. They were prompt, and the place was very clean. The Wi-Fi was decent, and I loved the fresh fruit and mini muffins. A few small things could be better: the bin needs to be moved because there were too many flies, there was a bagel toaster but no bagels so making toast was really slow, and the juice bar needs proper labels so you know what you're getting. The staff are friendly if you take the time to talk to them.

On arrival, I found garbage from the previous guest in the mini fridge. Later, at 3 a.m., I woke to a bed bug crawling on the bed. I called the front desk, but they didn't move me to another room or do anything about it. The person who answered just hung up. I stayed up the rest of the night and found more bed bug eggs. After checkout, they didn't want to refund me and offered a discount for a future stay instead. I spoke with the manager later that day, and it wasn't until I was on the phone with my lawyer, who said I should get a refund and that they'd pursue a lawsuit if the hotel wouldn't agree, that the situation changed. I won't stay at this facility again unless something changes, and I'll tell people about this hotel.

In September 2024, we got a good night's sleep and were satisfied with our stay. A lot of contractors and other workers were staying there. The room was basic but clean, with a mini fridge, microwave, shower and tub. It was missing a coffeemaker and TV remote, but the woman at the front desk brought both over. The bathroom has its own heater, which would be nice in cold winters. Check-in was very friendly. The motel was easy to find and right across from a restaurant, though the parking lot gets tight when full. There aren't amenities like a pool, breakfast, or exercise room. In an edit, the owners said breakfast is available, but nobody told us at check-in and there was no breakfast sign.
