Parc Octopus

The family room was practical and had what we needed for cooking, plus air conditioning, a double bed, and two single beds. The staff were genuinely kind and keen to help make us comfortable. The kids had a blast at the campground’s amazing inflatable water park, and there’s also a huge tent with games for everyone.

We were a group of 25 cyclists on a self supported ride around the lake and stayed one night in a cabin. It exceeded what we expected. The cabin was great, with a small kitchenette, good shower pressure, and it was clean. We had arranged an all you can eat pizza dinner ahead of time, and the pizza was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. There’s swimming and a great water feature, plus bikes and boats for rent. A fun place.

The staff really took the time to make sure we were comfortable and understood the instructions, even though English isn’t widely used in the area. We visited Parc Octopus in summer 2021 and 2022 while seeing family, and the water game is a fun, unusual activity for the whole family. The mini chalets are convenient and well furnished. In 2022, they’d also added an arcade style games area and a restaurant. Just a five minute drive away, there’s a viewpoint with a breathtaking view of Lac Saint Jean. We also recommend Ferme Mornarque, about a 15 minute drive from Parc Octopus in the other direction, for fresh, high quality fruits and vegetables. If you’re in the area, give it a try.

The only good point was that the room was clean. This so called aquatic center has no pool or beach, and the rooms have no TV access or internet. The advertised restaurant was closed. Reception was meant to be open, but its sign sent us to the white tent for service, and that was closed too. The office hours weren’t posted. The neighboring chalet and room also had no TV access, which caused the same frustration next door.
