Beausejour Apartments - Hotel Dorval

The one good thing was that they gave us a full refund without asking questions. The place felt unsafe, and we were woken by people screaming in the hallway from 1 am to 4 am. Online photos didn’t match what we found. We were told our unit was renovated, but only the bathroom seemed to be. The couches were dirty and worn, and the carpet smelled so strongly it made my sinuses ache. We tried to get through the night. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The front desk team was very courteous, which was the pleasant part of our stay. Our two-bedroom unit was in bad shape, though. The furniture was broken, with wobbly legs or pieces sticking out, and the floor creaked like something from a spooky movie. The carpets had gone dark, as if they hadn’t been maintained for years. The photos may show renovated rooms, but that’s not guaranteed to be what you get. We paid a “reasonable” rate, but it wasn’t cheap, and the rooms weren’t worth the price.

The price is good, and they’re trying to update things. I wish they’d work on the beds too. Every room we’ve stayed in has had clean rooms and clean beds, but the beds have been uncomfortable for sleeping when you live with chronic pain.

We only needed five hours of rest during a quick Montreal layover and knew this was meant to be a cheap but clean place. It was nowhere near clean or safe. There was blood and nasal drainage on the walls, big red stains on the floor, and the back patio had no lock and uneven, unsafe wood. The bathroom walls were black from what looked like the remains of an electrical fire caused by poor wiring or lights. There was also a strong odor of dirt and smoke, hair and stains on the pillows, ripped, worn lamps and furniture, and wall light bulbs with no fixtures. I’m not especially picky, but this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.
