Hotel Dinosaur worked well for my few nights in Drumheller on a budget. The motel is affordable, the staff are really friendly, and there’s a delicious Indian restaurant downstairs.

The shower was the only real snag during our two nights. Its water kept turning very cold for no clear reason, then warming up again, and the twisty shower head sometimes slipped off its hook. Still, that wasn't enough to put us off coming back. It’s a basic place without anything fancy, but the price suited our needs and we slept comfortably. The bed was good, the AC worked well, and the staff were super friendly. If you just need somewhere simple for the night or are watching your budget, this fit the bill. We’d stay again and recommend it.

I came down with the flu while camping and was too sick to drive home, so I was extremely grateful to find a room here. It was clean, with nice AC, and the older room was fine. The woman at the front desk was kind and accommodating. I was really glad to be able to stay.

The people running the hotel were very helpful. We called ahead, and they held our room past closing time; when we reported the bugs, they handled it gracefully. The rate is the best in Drumheller for a place to sleep, and it reflects the quality. If you don't need luxury and just want a roof over your head, it may work. On my first night there, my partner and I found bugs in both beds. They weren't bed bugs. The front desk said gaps in the AC unit were probably how they got in, and that it wasn't a cleanliness issue. Either way, we slept on top of the covers. The main areas were sort of clean, but the baseboards and corners hadn't been cleaned. The rooms were okay and service was great. Would I stay again in a pinch? Maybe. I'd definitely check every part of the room first.

The folks running the place were fantastic, really friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself was in rough shape, though. Our room was quite dirty and smelled like burnt food or cooking. The bathroom door didn't close right, and the shower had poor pressure with water that swung between very hot and very cold. I probably wouldn't stay again. It might suit someone on a tight budget who doesn't want to spend $100 or more for a room.
