The worst part was arriving to a place that needed cleaning. There were dead ants on the floor, more on the dining table and counters, and some had got onto food. The area rug and pullout couch were filthy, cobwebs hung from the ceiling, and the lampshades were dusty. The pullout mattress cover was stained, and the pillows and linens in the dresser smelled bad, had stains, and couldn't be used. I shouldn't have had to clean up when I got there. I asked the owner for a partial refund and haven't heard back. In response to the owner's comments: the blanket I put on top of the cupboards was dirty, so I moved it out of the way because it was unusable. One guest who stayed Saturday night is an experienced house cleaner and noticed the problems right away. She came for one night because one of my sons couldn't make it Saturday. Karen, when we spoke by phone about my sons visiting, I told you one had a lab, and you said, "we love labs that she would be welcome." My son brought his own towels to wipe her down before she came inside. The four ants you mentioned had company, with some on the table and counters too. I really wish I'd taken photos of everything we found. I hope you'll take this review seriously instead of dismissing the problems. Once they're dealt with, it will be amazing.
