The toilet bubbled more than once and sent a clear sewer smell into the room. The elevator was another surprise: it stopped so abruptly that there's a warning sign, so bend your knees. At over $170 a night, we expected more and left disappointed. We won't stay again. We were drawn in by the bold “newly renovated” sign, but the room's burnt orange carpet felt straight out of the 1970s, complete with what looked like a permanent stain as part of the decor. The room was spacious, but the advertised queen bed barely fit two adults unless personal space isn't a concern.

The hotel was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Friendly staff, useful amenities including a business room, gym, and reading area, plus a large breakfast. Good value, and did I mention how clean it was?

Breakfast was disgusting. The hot meal was just eggs and sausage, completely plain with no flavor or spices. After two days it was revolting, and the muffins tasted old. The juice machine was old and partly out of order. Compared with the local hotels in the next parking lot, this is unacceptable. Room 220 was large and had one queen bed with a mattress that felt new. The shower faucets were old, though the water pressure was really good. The carpet was old and smelled like smoke, or maybe mildew. After being out for a few hours, the smell was obvious when we came back.

The AC was great, and breakfast was delightful with lots of choices. There's a fantastic grocery store next door with a restaurant serving amazing food. Our room was far too small, and the pullout bed they tried to add left hardly any space. There was no pool, the front door was broken, and the ATM was out of order. This place badly needs an upgrade.

Everything was clean and odor-free, the beds were comfortable, and the food was up to the standard of some Marriott Bonvoy chain hotels. We also had a great view and our own balcony. The hotel and service were great, with coffee and tea available 24/7 and friendly, attentive staff who clearly care about the place. There's a pharmacy and Canadian Tire nearby if you need earplugs. The noise made it unbearable to sleep. You can hear everyone from anywhere in the building, including dogs, kids, showers, toilets flushing, conversations, loud drunk guys, and movies. The older wooden composite structure also shakes when doors close, so there's not much to do about it. Still, it's worth staying otherwise, and I can't give it fewer than four stars.
