The best part was the desk clerk, who was friendly and direct and got me checked in fast. The room was clean, though things were run down. The bed was extremely soft and didn't offer much support. Outside, an unpleasant smell from the nearby river hung in the air. My view was my car and the dumpster, which honestly didn't matter much to me. The door seemed warped and had to be lifted to close, though the deadbolt and chain worked. For me it was adequate, but not exactly pleasant. It cost as much as a nice motel or branded hotel, which felt crazy. Still, supply and demand applies wherever you go.

The owners are renovating the motel, and it was a pleasant surprise: very clean, with comfortable memory foam beds and fresh linens. Staff were incredibly nice. Having a mini fridge and microwave was a welcome extra. You can walk to a gas station, convenience store, or fast food restaurant, and Walmart and Tim hortons are a drive away.

The rooms looked dated, but were quite clean, and the mattresses and bedding appeared brand new. I saw no signs of bed bugs. Staff were kind and accommodated our late arrival after we called ahead before they closed. We were hesitant because of the reviews and only booked because everywhere else was full. With low expectations, we ended up pleasantly surprised. It probably wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

The manager was helpful and friendly, and the beds were acceptable. The place was clean, with no bugs, and laundry was available, though I only found that out on my last day. There's a suspension bridge behind the hotel leading to some small rapids, a nice spot to cast. If you need somewhere to stop, sleep, and get back on the road, it does the job. I know things have happened at this hotel, but from what I gather, they didn't happen to anyone who didn't deserve it. I'd stay again, 100%.

A clean, quaint little place with a comfortable bed, and I slept well. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. Wi-Fi was a nice surprise. At these prices, I wouldn't expect extras like room service or a continental breakfast. I'd recommend it if all you need is a cozy place to sleep.
