Dwight Riverside Inn

I stayed in a motel room rather than the luxury tent. The outside has a charming, rustic look, and inside everything felt super clean and well cared for. The grounds are fun to walk around, with a path leading to a beautiful fishing hole on the Boyne River. A memorable stay, with character and clear pride of ownership.

We were looking for a place to stay for the night before a hike in Algonquin Park and came across this spot just off the highway in Dwight. We met owner Dan while he was cleaning motel rooms, and after we chatted and looked at the rooms, he offered us 'glamping'. It turned out to be a great experience for an affordable price. The cute place up in the tree-line had an amazing view, a spacious deck, warm running water, a shower and toilet, and, best of all, a comfy bed with clean linens and towels. Dan also has two sizable fire-pits and plenty of wood. We'll definitely return.

The little lakeside town was nice, and check-in was friendly. The property looked good, and it was quieter since we were there outside the main season. It was a cold night, but the heater kept us all right. The third bed was really uncomfortable, and the price felt too high for what you get.

Dan was a wonderful host. Check-in was easy, and he showed us how things worked and told us to make ourselves at home. It was my first time glamping and I loved it. The tent was clean and cozy once we ran the heater for a bit, and the bathroom was in working order with a shower, which sold me. There's a lovely little river nearby, and I assume it's a swimming hole. We only stayed one night, but we'll definitely come back.
