The rooms were clean, the water got hot, and the staff were great. The manager was busy but still came straight to my room with extra coffee when I asked. It’s an older place, but it’s cute and has character. I’ve stayed at five-star resorts with worse hospitality, so I’m not sure where the bad reviews came from. The town and its residents are what make Eastend somewhere I might want to move to. Enjoy the hotel for what it is and explore this nice historic town.

Ben was really helpful and knows the area, and the riverside motel is handy for nearby attractions. I had a great time staying in Eastend. Be sure to check out the museum and the T.rex paleontology center!

I was in the area for work, and the owner kindly worked with my request for a late checkout so I could take a business call. I really appreciated the help. The rooms were clean, fresh, and practical, and the location was both convenient and scenic. I definitely recommend it. It’s not your typical small town motel!

The manager becomes defensive and combative right away if you bring up a problem, and for the nightly cost, this place doesn’t seem worth it compared with others nearby. I have photos if anyone wants evidence of what I’ve described. The motel feels very dated and doesn’t seem to have been updated in a long time. On my first night I was freezing, and spent much of the night swatting maple buds that kept landing on me while I tried to sleep. The next day I noticed a coffee-cup-sized hole in the bedroom window, which may have been related to the heat loss. The coffee maker didn’t work the first morning because it was clogged with grounds. I cleaned it out and got it working. In the bathroom, there were cobwebs in three spots on the ceiling, with a spider in one of them, and mold in several places. Hot water also took a while to come through, so you have to let it run. I stayed for three days last week. I won’t stay there again or recommend it to family or friends.

We stayed at the campground and had a really nice time. Ben, the manager, was awesome and made sure everything was good. He also told us about all the things to do and see.
