Chateau Lacombe Hotel

The front desk staff were very friendly, and breakfast was quite good for a continental breakfast. The breakfast staff, though, seemed unhappy to be there and took it out on guests. My room had a comfortable bed, fresh linens, a good-sized fridge, and AC that worked well. The bathroom had been renovated, with a nice countertop and a glass half-door shower, but the rest of the room needed a lot of work. The side table wobbled, pieces were missing from the walls and crown moulding, and it wasn’t very clean. The hotel felt run down. A huge gap under the door let me hear everything, so there was very little privacy. I could hear everything below, and sirens woke me several times overnight. I haven’t had that problem in four other downtown Edmonton hotels. I wouldn’t stay here again, though it is the more affordable downtown option and, for its price, not a bad choice.

The room was open, lovely, and comfortable, and the hotel has great amenities. What really made our stay special was the warm, professional service from the whole team. We looked forward to seeing the welcoming front desk staff, Kay and Rochelle, each evening. Ina from the Concierge Suite was incredibly sweet and gave wonderful service. When we left, Don helped us find our way through the parking lot and had a lovely conversation with us. We absolutely loved staying at the Chateau Lacombe Hotel in downtown Edmonton and highly recommend it.

Great location, but this place needs updating soon. The building and rooms are very old and run down, and the smart TV wouldn’t connect to the internet. Parking costs an extra $25 a day, is open to the public, and isn’t heated.

We booked a room for the Oilers game, and I was pleasantly surprised since I hadn’t stayed here before. The room was clean, the beds were really comfortable, and there were views of downtown. It got a little hot and stuffy, though, and we couldn’t open a window. I’d still stay here again.
