Super 8 London On

This was by far the sketchiest place I’ve stayed. The room didn’t look like the online photos at all. There were holes in the walls, a huge tear in the window screen, and paint or wall covering peeling up near the heater. It was a mess, and the curtains were dusty. I was scared to spend the night because I thought there might be bed bugs, though thankfully there weren’t. Even the bed being made didn’t help. The no-smoking rule clearly meant nothing, as the room reeked of smoke. That’s how I noticed the condition of the screen. It was hard to sleep when I couldn’t breathe. The staff were sort of nice, but the state of the room made me wonder what else was wrong. It looked like a murder room from the start of a crime show, the kind police kick the door in on to find something awful. I was stuck there because my flight came in late, but I checked out early. No way was I staying two nights. Avoid it if you can.

The hot tub wasn’t working, and after we’d paid for a king bed, we were given a queen instead. Staff wouldn’t correct it or refund the difference. They also hadn’t told us checkout was at 11, then locked us out until we paid a late fee when we were late. Our clothes were put in the garbage and the rest of our things left in the hall. My laptop and camera were stolen, and the hotel refused to replace them or take responsibility. When we told the owner how awful the stay was, he said we were lying. On top of all that, my 10-month-old found and played with a used condom in the room. The staff were very rude. I’ll never stay here again.

The room was filthy, and I actually wrote “clean me” in the dust on the bathroom door. It smelled of smoke, with cigarette burns on the sink and tub edge, a hair tie in the bed, broken outlets and missing outlet covers. The lights didn’t work, or at least the switch did nothing. We insisted they change the beds; they eventually did, but only after an argument. We’d booked two months ahead for two queen beds and got one double plus a pull-out loveseat for the same price. We meant to book Hotel6 by mistake. This place is so gross. Don’t stay there.

The room was clean and comfortable, with hardwood floors, Wi-Fi, and a really nice desk chair. The beds were comfortable too. I didn’t expect extras like a continental breakfast, pool, and fitness room at this price. It’s honestly as nice as some nearby hotels that cost $30 or $40 more.
