Ramada by Wyndham 1000 Islands/Gananoque

Our room was just what we expected for the price, and the front desk was super nice and helpful. They’re pet friendly and even checked whether our pup was enjoying her stay. I also liked having a green space right beside us for the dog. The bed and bathroom were cleaned well, though cleanliness elsewhere was just okay, with under the bed and the walls needing attention. Still, an amazing stay. Thanks so much!

The room stayed very cold even with the heater running, and neither the heater nor the AC worked properly. The fridge didn’t work either. The building was a surprise compared with the online photos: it felt more like a motel, with separate outdoor entrances instead of interior hallways, and that made me feel unsafe. I had a serious safety concern when the door lock and tap key system malfunctioned. I stepped outside for just a few minutes in the cold and couldn’t get back into my room because the system wasn’t working. Anyone could access the room area easily, which I don’t consider acceptable for a hotel claiming three-star standards. This was one of my worst experiences in any three-star hotel and fell well short of what I expect from a Ramada Wyndham property. Very disappointing.

I only stayed overnight, but the room was clean and comfortable, check-in was easy, and the price was fair. It had cute, quaint vibes. I only managed to get a photo of the room as we were leaving. I’d recommend it as a stop on the way to Montreal, like I did, or for a visit to the area.

The place is cute, the area is nice, the staff were very friendly, and we were comfortable for our two nights. The continental breakfast was good, and the bathroom had been renovated. The room could have been cleaner, though: cobwebs, dust on the walls, a questionable headboard, and rough-looking carpets. Lots of bus tours came through each day, so it was busy, but still quiet. No complaints.
