For the price, the rooms were decent and quiet enough to sleep, though ours was very warm. Breakfast was included but basic, and the morning staff didn’t keep it in good order. At check-in, the woman was pleasant, but my wife and I were overcharged for the deposit. The man working checkout was rude and said the refund wouldn’t be immediate, we’d have to wait 3-5 days. I’d only suggest this place for a quick stay, with the usual reminder that you get what you pay for.

There were bugs in my bed and at least one mouse in the room. I told the front desk and asked for a refund for the two days I couldn’t stay, but she laughed, threatened to call the police, and said she’d make sure I couldn’t rent anywhere in Edmonton. What kind of place is this? The room was dirty, so I cleaned it myself. I’d paid for a kitchenette, but it was empty. Staff were reluctant to give me anything and handed over just one bowl, spoon, and saucepan, then demanded I wash them before checkout and took them back. This was awful.

The kitchenette was useful, though there was only one plate and one bowl, so I was glad I’d brought my camping kitchen gear. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes and I was cold. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the photos used in the ads are out of date.

The motel doesn’t post its hours, and the caretaker’s account of what happened is a lie. I wasn’t disruptive. She wanted to restart her computer while I waited outside in -30 weather, even though she knew I was in a sensitive situation. She wouldn’t let me wait inside and forced me to check out after the first night of a two-night booking. No calls were made, and there was no reason to check in and out again after that first night. She just made things difficult. I was booked through an agency and in crisis, and she knew the payment was guaranteed. It was 12:37 am; she kept asking why I’d come then, and when I said it wasn’t her business, she refused to check me in. She was sleeping when I arrived and got angry that she had to get up to do her job. Don’t come here, she takes advantage of people. EDIT: The caretaker is miserable and jealous because I’m a beautiful young lady and she isn’t. Typical catty woman behavior. Reviews never take ownership, they just deflect and gaslight.
