JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District

The hot water with lemon and ginger was exactly what I needed for my cough. The young gentleman who took over our table offered it when I asked for water, and his calm, pleasant manner meant a lot. Thank you, SYED. JW Marriott is lucky to have him, and I highly recommend him. Before that, my friends and I had started at the main floor lounge bar, where the staff seemed to have a case of the Mondays every day of the week. For Valentine's Day, I took my fiancée to the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District, and they surprised us with a personalized card printed with her name. Such a thoughtful touch. The staff were wonderful throughout and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We also really enjoyed the dining options, especially the Alchemy Bar for its atmosphere and excellent drinks. The pool and hot tub were highlights too, with a great view that made relaxing even better. We had an incredible experience and highly recommend this hotel for luxury and thoughtful service in Edmonton.

From check-in to departure, everything felt smooth and well handled, with welcoming, professional staff who took care of the details. The room had a fantastic view and was spacious, modern, and beautifully designed, with high-end finishes. It was spotless and clearly well maintained. The JW Marriott in the Ice District has impressive amenities and a prime location. The combination of the clean, lovely room, great service, and facilities made for a top-tier stay that I can easily recommend.

Ralph at reception, if I got his name right, deserves a special mention. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was clean and modern, with a nice pool and gym. The room setup fell short of what I expect from a J.W. Marriott. The bedroom area was average sized, with one big wall light above the bedside table and no individual bed lighting. The bathroom was smaller than expected because the room's wide entrance hall took up adjacent space. It had just one hook and a vanity that seemed too small for two people. There was hardly any storage, since the towels used up the space, and not a single extra wall shelf. The heavy barn door to the washroom was awkward and didn't give full privacy when shut, though the shower area was good. Breakfast at Braven tasted good but was pricey. The area has homeless people, through no fault of the hotel. Downtown Edmonton has the feel of a classic mid-western city, with nice people and lots of glass buildings, but too many parking lots and garages.
