Comfort Inn Edmundston

The free breakfast had a surprising variety, and every one of the four staff members I dealt with was friendly, polite, and professional. It was quiet after a full day of driving, and getting on and off the highway was easy. We booked because it's pet friendly and close to the highway, and our 120-pound dog Chum had lots of room between the beds. The patio door made it easy to take him in and out. The room was very clean, and the recent renovations include vinyl floors instead of carpet, which matters a lot when traveling with a dog. The hotel worked well for us, and we'll definitely return. If you want somewhere clean, quiet, and comfortable, this is the spot.

I usually choose Comfort Inn when I travel because their smaller-town locations have been consistent, but this was my worst experience yet, and the most I've paid for one of their hotels. The property looked like a junkyard as I approached, and the entrance around the back wasn't welcoming. At check-in, I had to wait for two employees to finish a conversation. Then an employee nearly bowled me over as I struggled down the hall with my luggage. The dim hall carpets were dirty and stained. My room door was ajar, which was unsettling as a woman traveling alone. I opened it hoping housekeeping had been in late, but a pair of large workboots inside made that seem unlikely, so I went back to the desk for an unoccupied room. The room I got looked recently renovated and was otherwise fine, but the bathtub stopper didn't work, so after a long day I couldn't take a relaxing hot bath. The TV clock hadn't been updated either. Those details need attention. Breakfast was uninspiring: the scrambled eggs I usually go for looked pale and mushy, so I got yogurt instead. For the price, this wasn't worth it, and I won't stay here on future trips.

The beds were very comfortable, the TV was huge, the washrooms decent, and the water pressure fantastic. The rooms were clean, and the staff were nice. Close to the highway exit, some stores, and fast food restaurants. I had a pet, which cost an extra $50, and I'm glad they accept pets. That's the main reason I'd come back. Breakfast was a letdown for a $250-a-night stay. I also wish I'd checked Expedia before walking in, since its price was nearly half before the pet charge. That's on me, but it's a useful tip for next time.

We visited family on May 17, 2026. A family member booked five rooms together and was told they would be together, but three were at one end of the building and two at the other, 35 rooms apart. We were also told the rooms would be wheelchair accessible, but they weren't. My father-in-law uses a wheelchair and has one leg. He couldn't comfortably get himself and his chair in and out of the bathroom or reach the toilet, and getting through either the room door or patio door was extremely difficult. One room had a dirty bathroom floor, and the showers took five minutes to get hot water. The patio doors in all the rooms were very hard to close, and breakfast was beyond cold. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Sorry, not sorry.
