Elk Point Motel & RV Park

After a few weeks here, I’d say avoid this place at all costs. They don’t clean your room or provide towels, and you have to take out your own garbage. The showers are terrible, the rooms smell disgusting, and the people are awful to deal with. Go to the motel next door.

The price was very modest, and the value was far better than I expected. Check-in and checkout were quick and friendly. It’s not a five-star hotel, of course, and the owner is upfront that it’s an older place, but I was happy with a quiet, comfortable spot to sleep. My room was spotless, including the bathroom and bedding. I couldn’t find any dust or grit, even along the floor and walls. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure. There’s a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, though I didn’t use them. I had an excellent stay and will be back for my regular business visits.

The owners are welcoming and nice, though their English is limited. The rooms are clean and serviced every two days, but all three I saw showed their age. The carpets are old, and the comforters didn’t match. One had Travelodge Melfort written on it, and another had cigarette burns. This is a very modest but adequate motel. I tried a standard room with two double beds and one with a kitchenette. Both had a coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge. The kitchenette room also had two mini-fridges, a stovetop, and a kitchen sink.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly during my one-night stay. I’d suggest adding lights beside the beds. Otherwise, I was happy with the place and thought it was great value. I’ll stay again.
